Buying

How do I get Nester or Setout?

Download it free from its page, install it, and use it. Each plugin is one file, the same whether you have paid or not. When you want to keep it, buy a licence on the pricing page; Lemon Squeezy emails you an activation code, and you paste it into the panel.

What does the free download do before I pay?

Nester nests and prices your artwork but will not place the result on your artboard. Setout runs in full for 7 days from install; when Illustrator opens, the panel says how many days are left and carries a Buy now button. Both are the full engine and the full panel; nothing is cut down. Nester locked still shows you a finished nest and what it costs, so a lock on placing leaves something useful; Setout's whole job is writing the numbers onto the drawing, so the same lock would leave it doing nothing, and a clock is the honest limit for it.

What does it cost?

Nester, a year: Solo £90 for 1 seat, 2 machines; Shop £210 for 5 seats, 10 machines; Site £540 for 20 seats, 40 machines. Or a month: Solo £15 for 1 seat, 2 machines; Shop £35 for 5 seats, 10 machines; Site £90 for 20 seats, 40 machines.

Setout, a year: Solo £60 for 1 seat, 2 machines; Shop £150 for 5 seats, 10 machines; Site £360 for 20 seats, 40 machines. Or a month: Solo £10 for 1 seat, 2 machines; Shop £25 for 5 seats, 10 machines; Site £60 for 20 seats, 40 machines.

Both tools, Nester and Setout together, a year: Solo £120 for 1 seat, 2 machines; Shop £270 for 5 seats, 10 machines; Site £690 for 20 seats, 40 machines. Or a month: Solo £20 for 1 seat, 2 machines; Shop £45 for 5 seats, 10 machines; Site £115 for 20 seats, 40 machines.

Pay yearly and pay half. Every tier is the whole product; the only difference is the number of seats and machines. Fellside, our business dashboards, is set up around each business and priced once we've met. How pricing works See the pricing page.

Is it a subscription?

Yes, monthly or yearly, and every update is included for as long as you subscribe. Stop paying and it ends at the close of the period you paid for: Nester drops back to the free version, which still nests and prices but will not place; Setout shades over until you come back. Nothing is deleted and your files are untouched.

What do seats and machines mean?

One seat covers two machines, for example a desktop and a laptop. The number of seats is how many people can be signed in at the same time. A machine is one computer with Illustrator on it. Your tier sets how many you can activate at once; on one more than that, the panel says so and stays as it was until an activation is released. The licence page has the detail.

Who takes the payment?

Lemon Squeezy, as merchant of record. They handle the payment, VAT and the activation code, and they show the price in your local currency at checkout. Prices on this site are in pounds.

What if it is not for me?

Do not buy it. Both plugins are free to download and run on your own artwork before any money moves, so the "will it work for me" question is answered first. Once an activation code is issued the purchase is final, unless the software is broken, in which case we fix it or refund it. The refunds page says it plainly.

How do I get Fellside?

It starts with a 20-minute call, by phone or Zoom. Then we send a short questionnaire about how the business runs, and meet (in person, or online if you'd prefer) to go through what we found and your options. After that we give you a price and tell you which grants could help. Open the three live demos first; they are the shape we build. How pricing works

Running it

Which versions of Illustrator?

Nester: Requirements: Adobe Illustrator 2024 onwards, on Windows. Setout: Requirements: Adobe Illustrator 2026, on Windows. It may run on 2024 and 2025, but we have not tested them and do not claim them.

Does it run on a Mac? In CorelDRAW?

Not today. macOS is on the roadmap for both plugins, and CorelDRAW for Nester. They run in Adobe Illustrator on Windows. Fellside runs in any browser. The roadmap page keeps the list.

How do I install it?

Download the file, run the installer, restart Illustrator, and the panel is under Window, then Extensions. The detail is on the requirements and install pages for Nester and Setout.

Where is the manual?

The help guides: Nester, which every Learn more link inside that panel opens, and Setout, with a picture of every control.

My parts are all rectangles. Do I need true-shape nesting?

No. Use Nester's Grid tab: labels, stickers, panels, anything where the answer is simply as many of these as fit, in tidy rows. It is far faster because it is not solving anything.

Windows warned me about the file when I installed it.

Nester's nesting engine is a small program that ships with the plugin, and Setout is our own file; Windows is cautious about programs it has not seen many times before. Both are safe to keep, and the signed installer removes the warning.

Who is BlueGrey?

Two founders in Yorkshire who also run a manufacturing business. Every tool is built for that business first and used there on live production jobs before it is sold. The two are separate companies that share a workshop. More about us.

Will you spam me or sell my email?

No. The updates list gets a line when a tool ships a release worth knowing about, a few times a year at most. One reply takes you off the list. The privacy page says exactly what we keep.
